Activities for Homecoming Week
The Student Council announces the following Homecoming Spirit Week activities:

TUESDAY | DRESS-UP TUESDAY | Dress up classy (not sassy!) for picture day! Dresses and ties are appropriate.
WEDNESDAY | WORK WEDNESDAY | OCCUPATION DAY | Dress up as any work force out there!
THURSDAY | JERSDAY THURSDAY | Jersey Day| Wear your favorite sports jersey
RED AND GOLD FRIDAY | Show school spirit by wearing all Red and Gold clothes!
7 p.m. Game
9 p.m. (after game ends) Dance in gym.
The Class of 1991 will be honored during halftime of the Homecoming Game for their 25th anniversary. Crusader football players from the Class of 1966 will be honored on their 50th anniversary.
School pictures
All students will have their photos taken on Tuesday whether or not you are buying the photos. These photos are used for ID cards and to publish in the yearbook. Students will have their photos taken during their theology classes. Even if your family is not purchasing a photo package, please fill out the form and send it in. Thank you!
Student Ambassadors Students who are interested in serving as a Student Ambassador for the 2015-16 school year may pick up an application in the Office of Enrollment Management (Miss Abelein and Mrs. Gallagher). The Student Ambassador program gives students valuable opportunities to grow as leaders, serve the school and community, and gain impressive experience for college and life. Student Ambassadors are expected to be polite, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dedicated! Student Ambassadors will have the opportunity to influence important events and activities, including: - New Student Orientation

All students must complete an application, even if you were a Student Ambassador last year. Completed applications need to be returned by Friday, Sept. 4, by the end of the school day.
Meet the Teachers Night Thanks to all who came out for Meet the Teachers Night on Wednesday. We hope you got a chance to talk to your child's teachers, see the school building -- especially the renovated cafeteria -- and meet other parents during our ice cream social. Thanks also to the teachers and staff for a great evening.
Key Club call-out meeting Tuesday
We get out and do service in the community and our school. We learn about leadership. And we have fun with friends we care about, like the Jenny Deery Memorial Ultimate Frisbee Tourney, which we held to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Weekly meetings are at 7 p.m. Tuesdays ain the cafeteria. Sign up! Our call-out meeting is at 7 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 1 in the cafeteria. Email questions to scecinahskeyclub@gmail.com.

Club 53: Live and Local Club 53 is Scecina's night of fun, local food and drinks, socializing, dancing and silent and live auctions, all to benefit the school's tuition assistance, athletics and student life. Club 53: Live and Local will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14. Our live band is Tastes Like Chicken.
Parents can give back to Scecina by volunteering at the event or buying a ticket to attend. Volunteer activities include following up on auction solicitations, ticket selling and helping on the night of the event.

Scecina sports passes
Scecina Sports Passes are on sale in the Athletic Office. The passes are $75 for one or $125 for two. Each pass will admit one adult to all Scecina Home Athletic Events for the 2015-16 school year. As always, our Future Crusaders (Scecina siblings and Partner School students) are admitted at no charge. The Scecina Sports Passes are not valid at away games, city tournaments, or IHSAA sectional games even if they are hosted by Scecina. Please contact Cari Gallagher at 352-3272 for more information, or to make plans to purchase a pass.
Athlete echo screenings
St. Vincent Medical Group Cardiology Services will offer student athlete echo screenings:
- 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday Sept. 14 at the St. Vincent Medical Group Professional Building, 10590 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, 46290.
- Please call (317) 338-CARE (2273) to pre-register. No walk-ups or money can be taken at the time of the screenings.
- The screening focuses on the four leading causes of cardiovascular compromise (including sudden cardiac death) in athletes: hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Marfan's aorta, mitral valve prolapse and aortic valve stenosis.

Scecina students are required to have service hours. Here are some current opportunities:
- Scecina's Key Club performs service at school and in the community. If you would like to join Key Club, please attend call-out meeting at 7 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 1 in the cafeteria. Email questions to scecinahskeyclub@gmail.com.
- The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is in need of volunteers at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at its Distribution Center. St. Vincent de Paul receives donations of appliances clothing, bed linens, sick room equipment and furniture for distribution to the poor and needy in Indianapolis at no cost to them. The distribution center is located at 1201 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.

The Downtown Mater Dei Knights of Columbus at 13th and Delaware can always use help to take care of cleaning projects, move tables and chairs, sprucing up the garden, etc. Also there are opportunities to help with our pro-life monthly fundraising brunches and other charitable events. Senior portraits
For the 33rd year, Tiffany Photography Studio will be helping to make this year a memorable one as the official school photographer for the Senior Class of 2016.
SAT prep class
A special SAT prep class for Scecina students only will take place at the school from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. The price is $79.99. Students will learn tips and strategies during the five-hour ZAPS test-prep seminar.
New lunch policy Students may not charge more than $21 on their lunch accounts. If they are above that amount, the cafeteria will serve them a peanut butter and jelly sandiwich and a milk until the lunch account is current Please check with Julie Brown at jbrown@scecina.org if you need to know your student's balance. Please try to keep money in their accounts this year!
2015-16 Uniform Policy
There are some changes to our Uniform Policy for next school year. Students must wear Schoolbelles shorts. Students will be able to wear long khaki dress uniform pants from Schoolbelles as well as three other brands: Dockers, Dickies and French Toast. They must be neat and unmarked (no stripes, designs, etc.). The following pants are not allowed: Capris or cargo or "skinny" pants, or pants made of denim, fleece, velour or athletic warm-up style.
Students will continue to wear the uniform polo shirt. There will be two styles of uniform sweatshirt (pictured below): crewneck and quarter-zip. The polo shirts and sweatshirts are available only in the Scecina Bookstore. Students will not be able to wear hooded sweatshirts (hoodies) at any time, including on Friday Spirit Days.
Senior immunizations
The Indiana State Department of Health now requires that all seniors have a second MCV4 vaccination. The only students exempt from this requirement are those who received their first MCV4 on or after their 16th birthday. Please be sure to get your senior's updated record to the main office. Summer office hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The office fax number is 322-4287.
National Catholic Youth Conference The National Catholic Youth Conference will be in our city, Indy, Nov. 19-21. Registration and scholarship information is due over the summer with final payments due Sept. 14.
The theme for NCYC 2015 is Here I am Lord-Aqui Estoy Senor. About 23,000 high school students and chaperones will be in attendance.

Cards were enrolled before Aug. 1, 2014, must be re-enrolled to continue supporting our school.
