GRATITUDE

We're grateful for givers and golfers

Greetings!

As the positive memories of last school year remain with us, one theme comes to mind: gratitude. We have much to be grateful for at Scecina: a diverse and gifted community of students; parents who invest time, talent and treasure; capable and caring teachers and staff members, supportive pastors and school principals; generous alumni and friends who support our mission; the Archdiocese of Indianapolis' commitment to provide a Catholic education on the Eastside of Indianapolis; the message of the Gospel; the legacy of Father Thomas Scecina.

To help our ministry grow, 1,377 generous Scecina alumni and friends committed $1,262,000 in support during the past year. At the annual Scecina Alumni Golf Classic at Ironwood Golf Club on July 17, a record number of golfers and sponsors funded the Kenneth R. Leffler Scholarship...Read more

YOU CAN HELP US! We need event sponsors, volunteers and auction items. Contact Beth Murphy at bmurphy@scecina.org if you can help.

A special state tax credit program in Indiana helps more parents send their children to Scecina and other private schools, while also benefiting the donors who provide the scholarships. In 2009, Indiana passed legislation to create the School Scholarship Tax Credit program. This program rewards the donors with a 50 percent state income tax credit for their donations.

Jim McGuinness, Scecina's director of development and alumni relations, explains how the program benefits both students and donors.  ...Read More
