  • Congratulations to all of the seniors who have already received acceptance letters! Please also remember to bring copies of all acceptances and scholarship offers to Mr. Corn. This information will be used in the graduation program and presented at senior awards day. 
     

  • Reminder: Senior Guidance Surveys are due TODAY-April 17th. The Senior Survey collects the Class of 2015's post-high school plans and reminds students to request a final transcript through Parchment.com. This packet must be turned in to be included in the commencement book.  Check the Daily for the online link to the survey if needed.

Scholarship Opportunities 
  • The Sigma Phi Epsilon Indiana Beta chapter is seeking applicants for its Balanced Man Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to Indiana University-bound senior males for their scholarship, philanthropic, athletic and extracurricular achievements.   • The State of Indiana's Minority Teacher Scholarship.  The state of Indiana offers the minority teacher scholarship to black or Hispanic students who are admitted to an eligible university in Indiana and intend to become teachers in Indiana upon graduation.  Visit in.gov/sfa/2342.htm for further details. 
Summer  Opportunities

 

  • University of Dayton-Summer Honors Engineering Camp is open to high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the fall of 2015 who have a minimum of GPA of 3.5. Offered June 14-19 or June 21-26, 2015. Visit  go.udayton.edu/engr/honors_camp to learn more about this opportunity.
     
  • University of Dayton-Women in Engineering Summer Camp is open to girls who will be high school sophomores, juniors or seniors in the fall of 2015.  Camp runs from July 12-17.   • Ball State University College of Architecture & Planning-Design Works 2015

    The Design Works Summer Academy offers hands on immersion into the exciting world of environmental design and problem solving with fun and creative activities led by College of Architecture and Planning faculty. Work with experienced faculty & staff, live in Ball State residence halls, engage in intense design studio experiences-modeled after professional firms. Design Works 2015 will be June 21-27 and July 19-25.   • NYU (New York University) High School Programs offer many different programs for high school students interested in studying at our New York campus. Each program draws on the strengths of NYU's various schools and colleges. Whether it's by earning college credit or strengthening artistic or professional skills in an intensive non-credit offering, students will experience college and city life, first hand. 6-week, 1-week and everything in between, NYU's varied array of High School Programs offer flexibility and options that can be tailored to your individual needs and schedule.   • IUPUI-SPAN Program. SPAN (Special Programs for Academic Nurturing) was established at IUPUI in 1984 to let academically motivated students take college classes.  SPAN offers many opportunities that can be configured many ways. It permits motivated high school students to get started on their college education or just take courses that are not available at their local high schools.   • Kelley Business Academy is a full year program where students attend one Saturday session per month at Indiana University Bloomington. Students will attend various business lectures, participate in teamwork activities, learn communication & leadership skills from business professionals. Applicants should be students in grades 9-12 from historically underrepresented groups, including students who identify as African-American, Latino/Hispanic, American Indian/Native American, or Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander. Apply from March 15-August 1, 2015 at go.iu.edu/upnext15.

  • Indiana State University will once again be offering their Summer Honors program, which is a week-long University program that enables high school students to explore their academic interests and experience campus life, all while earning a college credit. Student can choose from 15 different seminar topics during the week of July 19-25.

  • The program is open to high school students in the graduating classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018 who have at least a "B" average or higher and a positive recommendation letter. The admission deadline is June 5, 2015 and the full cost of the program ($375) is due by June 26, 2015.   • Registration for our Summer Workshops for high school and middle school students is open. This year we are offering even more week-long programs including Game Design using Unreal 4, Pokémon Training Camp, 3D Animation and Visual Effects, Digital Imaging, Digital Video, Mobile App and Mobile Game Development, Robotics, Programming, Advanced Web Programming, Applications of Bioinformatics for Personalized Medicine**, and Building Open Source Medical Records Platform.

    • **The Bioinformatics workshop is open only to those students who will have successfully completed high school honors biology.

  • Marion County has a Student Poll Worker Program where 16, 17 and 18-year old students can work on Election Day. Students must have permission from their school and a parent/guardian and have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Call our office at 327-5100 for more information.  The Marion County Election Board is looking for people to work the polls on Tuesday, May 5.
