Catholic Christians begin prayer by saying, "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." These words identify the person praying as a Catholic. Those simple words remind Catholics of the Blessed Trinity and to do everything in the name of the Lord.
The Trinity is a gift and the model for all relationships. It is a model that emphasizes love and unity.
Recently, Sister Lavonne Long, O. S. F., called me and then sent a letter from her heart and from her room in the Motherhouse in Oldenburg. She asked if I would share her letter with our Scecina community; the answer was unhesitatingly "yes." As a tireless advocate, cheerleader, counselor, and friend, Sister Lavonne will always be a gift to Scecina Memorial High School. Click below to see a copy of her letter. Thank you for reading it.
Neither wind, nor rain, nor dark of night could keep the Crusader Community from celebrating its senior athletes and pep band members on Friday, October 3, 2014. Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, 45 senior athletes and band members, along with their friends and family, gathered at Arsenal Technical High School to celebrate the accomplishments of members from the class of 2015.
When you walk through the halls of Scecina Memorial High School, you might start seeing double. The Class of 2018 has not one, not two, but five sets of twins!
Members of the Scecina Pipe and Drum Corps at New Student Orientation
On a rainy, overcast weekend typical of Ireland, three musicians from Scecina's Pipe and Drum Corps journeyed to Dublin, Ohio with their families to participate in the world's largest Irish Heritage Festival. Included in the group were founding members Joseph (2015) and Eamon (2016) Hegarty and the corps newest bass player AJ Gallagher (2018).
