Greetings! 
 
When it comes to thinking about the future, I have always liked this quotation from Lewis Carroll: "If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."

Fortunately, at SMHS we have a plan to guide our future. We call it the Strategic Growth Plan. Today, I would like to highlight one Strategic Growth Plan area, in particular, in which we have made significant progress: Technology.

David Dellacca
Vice President of Technology 

  

Over the past two years, the Scecina Memorial Technology Committee and many other people have been instrumental in laying the foundation for a new technology era at our school. This era has now begun in earnest with President Joe Therber's announcement that Mr. David Dellacca has been hired to serve as the school's first Vice President of Technology.

Coach Padgett '01 takes time for a photo in front of the plaque honoring past SMHS Coach, Ken Leffler. 

 

The Indiana Football Coaches Association hosts an annual all-star game each summer to recognize the top players and coaches in Indiana. This year, Coach Kyle Padgett '01 was selected to serve as an assistant coach for the South Team.   

The players and coaches spend a week together preparing for the game, and for many this experience is the highlight of the week. We asked Coach Padgett to give us glimpse.

Bo Leszcynski '15

 

This summer, Bo Leszcynski '15 was selected to participate in the prestigious IU Honors Program In Foreign Language. He spent 6 weeks studying spanish in Ciudad Real, Spain.

There is a NO ENGLISH rule for this program, but Bo updated us weekly with a post in spanish (and we translated).

  

 


   


There are many different groups for students to get involved in at Scecina Memorial High School. One of the most unique and challenging groups to join is the Robotics Club.  Members are learning valuable lessons, not just about creating or programing, but about working as a team, delegating, problem solving, etc.
