Psalm 139 is appointed for this Sunday. This is the Psalm that is used in our Rite-13 Ceremonies, often scheduled during the second year of that program. It is one of the more profound of the psalms and explores the inner life of a particular believer living in the 6th or 5th century before the common era. In it the writer is profoundly aware not only of God's closeness in a general way but of God's particular awareness of the writer which even predates his or her birth! The tone of the psalm is unique this way and reads like a private conversation. It is a remarkable reminder of all that is so easy to forget in our day to day lives, in the anxieties of our work or families worlds.

Labor Day Schedule: We will try to go outside for the 9:15 service on Labor Day weekend. We return to our 8 and 10:15 Services Schedule on the 11th. Note the Welcome Home Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. that morning!

September 18th: All 3 Services... Dave will be visiting the Church School. Church School Meeting at 11:30 a.m.

September 25th: Contemporary Sunday: Concert to End Gun Violence (nationwide event).

September 30th (Friday): Nine6teen at the Crossings

October 2nd: Car Wash Sunday- Rite-13 Cookout, Bake Sale & Church First, possibly in the Great Hall, as we celebrate St. Francis with a blessing of your animal of choice. Bring your pet, if it will go through the door! (Dog, Cat, Rabbit, Iguana, etc.) No Church School or Teen Program that Sunday! Everyone together!... still a tentative schedule....
