Google+

Should You Use
Google+?

Not a fan of Google+ for your business? You're not alone. According to Digital Information World, although there are 2.2 billion Google Plus profiles online, only 4 to 6 million users have made any public posts. On the other hand, Google makes it almost impossible not to join its community, one: because a business is expected to be represented on all social platforms; and two: your Google+ profile automatically shows up prominently when someone Google's you or your business's name. Here's what's important to know:

  • In March of this year, CNN Money reported Google+ will reorganize around its two biggest successes, photos and hangouts. Want to promote a new service or product? Schedule a Google Hangout to answer questions.

  • You can automatically make videos from your photos by installing the Google Auto Awesome App on your mobile device. And it works on both Android and iOS.

  • If you use Google+ to segment your audience and micro-promote to different interest groups, you accomplish more than by just throwing a message out there and seeing who bites. GetResponse.com suggests creating circles around themes and using keywords to identify new customers.

  • According to Stone Temple, a digital marketing consulting business, personalization is one of the most powerful aspects of Google+. Google personalizes its search results based on your activity on G+ and improves your search results.
