The Meli family began the business as a trucking and construction company in 1941. Today the business focuses on mini self-storage unit rentals, trailer and van box storage, and contractor's garage and shop space rentals. There is also outdoor storage space for long-term parking of vehicles including boats, RVs, and campers, as well as large parking spaces for contractor vehicles and equipment. Customers can feel their belongings are secure protected within a gated property that allows 24-hour access with a private code.

Heidi Zimmer-Meyer, President of Rochester Downtown Development Corporation will be the featured speaker at the Penfield Business Association meeting on Thursday, October 15.
Zimmer-Meyer will be speaking about her perspectives on the topic of downtown development and its link to healthy communities in Monroe County. Networking begins at 5:30 at Joey's Party House and will feature an appetizer selection of some of Joey's signature dishes. Cash bar will be available. Zimmer-Meyer will begin speaking at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will conclude by 7:00 p.m.

Jim Costello, Director of Economic Development for the Town of Penfield, will present the current state of economic development in Penfield and share upcoming projects on the horizon. Each of Penfield's business districts will be discussed during the presentation and there will be opportunity for Q&A at the end. In addition, elections for our Board of Directors will be held. The slate of 2015-2016 candidates will be posted shortly, along with brief bios about each candidate. Candidate information will also be available at the meeting. Only current PBA members may vote. Please make sure you are current on your dues prior to the event if you wish to vote. New member applications and renewal forms will be available at the door.Networking begins at 11:30am. NOW ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR: Business of the Year Daniel Penfield Award Penfield Pride Award It's that time of year again - the Fifth Annual PBA Business of the Year, Daniel Penfield and Penfield Pride Awards. In order to make this selection truly representative of the community and the PBA we are seeking nominations for each award. Business of the Year Award This award is given annually by the Penfield Business Association to honor a local business that has significantly contributed to the vitality and success of the Penfield business community. Criteria for the Business of the Year are: - PBA membership and involvement
- Headquartered in Penfield or maintains visible Penfield location
- Overall community involvement and contribution
- Demonstrated business vitality in terms of growth, sales/revenue, employment, innovation and/or admirable business practices.
Daniel Penfield Award This award is given annually by the Penfield Business Association to honor a local business person who has positively impacted the Penfield business community through his or her community involvement, business practices and overall character. Criteria for the Daniel Penfield Award are: - Active community involvement
- PBA Member
- Visible dedication to the Penfield community
- Positive impact on local business
- Exemplary character; serves as a role model & leader
Penfield Pride Award Each year the Penfield Business Association recognizes a local business that rehabilitates an existing building, creates a vibrant new look and becomes a positive addition to Penfield's proud community. To nominate a business for any of these awards, please complete and submit a nomination form by Sunday November 1st. Feel free to also include a letter of recommendation, testimonials or any other information that you believe would explain why the nominated business or person would be a good selection. Awards will be announced at the Annual Meeting on November 13th and celebrated at the Holiday Party (stay tuned for a date).
