ANNUAL MEETING & ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT PRESENTATION
Thursday, November 13
11:30am - 1:30pm
Penfield Country Club
Jim Costello, Director of Economic Development for the Town of Penfield, will present the current state of economic development in Penfield and share upcoming projects on the horizon. Each of Penfield's business districts will be discussed during the presentation and there will be opportunity for Q&A at the end.
In addition, elections for our Board of Directors will be held.
Current candidates for the PBA Board of Directors are:
Jaime Dengal - Hampton Inn Webster
I have worked within the hotel industry for the last 16 years for both Marriott & Hilton Hotels. I love the day to day interaction with guests I have just met and those that come back repeatedly and become hotel family. I work with companies throughout the Webster & Penfield region to accommodate their travelers visiting at a discounted rate as well as many sports teams and weddings looking for rooms for their special event. I am a member of VisitRochester, as well as a Board Member with the New York State Business Travel Association and Webster Chamber of Commerce. I would love to join the Penfield Business Association Board of Directors to bring new ideas to sites and programs as well as become more involved within the Penfield community and the association as a whole.
Cathy Donahower - Insero & Company
Cathy Donahower is an accomplished accounting and finance professional with an extensive background in accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, process improvement, and cash flow management. She has been in the accounting field for twenty years. Her background includes real estate and manufacturing accounting. She recently achieved the highest distinction the IRS will grant someone, Enrolled Agent. It would be her pleasure to be the Treasurer of the Penfield Business Association again and is looking forward to filling that role.
Sandy Swanson LMT
Being involved makes me feel useful and helpful, mostly to my community. Although I've never served on a Board, I've always volunteered both at agencies and on committees of numerous organizations. Supporting local, Penfield businesses will continue to help Penfield in particular and the Rochester region in general. I welcome this opportunity to serve in a worthwhile, community-minded way.
I've always thoroughly enjoyed being a part of a decision-making team. While my chosen profession does not, at least most of the time, lend itself to collaborating with others about decisions, I have taken on tasks that need to involve meeting and talking to plenty of other people (ie: committees in GRAPE, Arc of Monroe County, and Heritage Christian Home). Ultimately, I wish to sit on the PBA Board to assist everyone involved in a different, team-oriented way.
There are 4 open positions on the Board of Directors, with 3 candidates to fill those positions. The PBA will be accepting letters of interest from the community through Friday, November 7th and a write-in option will be available on the ballot at the meeting on November 13th as well.
Only current PBA members may vote. Please make sure you are current on your dues prior to the event if you wish to vote. New member applications and renewal forms will be available at the door. Networking begins at 11:30am. Members are encouraged to bring literature for the member information table. Lunch and Program will be begin at 12:00pm. Kindly RSVP by Friday 11/07/14 using the "Register Online" button below. If you prefer to register by mail, please send an email with the names of attendee(s) before mailing your check. Members - $25 Guests - $30 Premium Members - One person per business complimentary, additional attendees pay member rate.

A LETTER FROM THE PBA PRESIDENT
|
Dear Members and Friends of the Penfield Business Association:
November marks the end of our Association's calendar year and also the end of my tenure as the President of the Penfield Business Association. Looking back on the past two years as the PBA's President, I have a lot to be thankful for.
When I joined the PBA Board three years ago, there was a lot of time shared on how we wanted to take our Association to the next level. So we devised a plan, set our goals and off we went. The results are what you see today, a strong, passionate association that will do its best to provide a voice for our businesses in and around the Penfield Community.
To my Board of Directors- I am humbled by your desire to choose me as your leader of this fantastic association. With every e-mail, meeting, social function and educational opportunity, I did everything I could to give an honest opinion that would benefit everyone.
To the Town of Penfield- especially Supervisor LaFountain, Jim Costello, Amy Steklof and the Town of Penfield Board. Wow...What a great relationship we have with you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of so many things you do for the town of Penfield. The support you have shown speaking at our luncheons and participating in all of our events have not gone unnoticed. I personally have learned so much from you over this great experience and look forward to our continued relationship.
To Our Members- keep the ideas coming! We are always looking for new ideas, new topics, volunteers and Board of Directors participants. The time you are able to give as a member is why the PBA has been so strong for over 20 years. Thank you for your support!
I am eager for my new role on the Penfield Business Association Board as Past President and Advisor. I look forward to seeing all of you at future PBA Events.
Sincerely, Michael Smith President Penfield Business Association

Penfield Players Fall Production
In case you didn't know, there's a very important Presidential election coming up! Come see "The Best Man" and choose your candidate! Performances are Nov 1 - 15 and tickets are on sale NOW!
The Best Man by Gore Vidal Directed by Dave Woodworth
November 1, 7, 8, 14, 15 2014 8:00pm at the Penfield Community Center
Vidal's play tells the story of two politicians vying for the Democratic Party's nomination for president of the United States. William Russell, the ex-Secretary of State, is a wit and scholar with high liberal principles, beloved of the eggheads and suspected by practical politicians. Joseph Cantwell is a ruthless and hard-driving young man, a dirty fighter who will let no scruples stand in the way of his ambitions. Cantwell has got hold of papers indicating that his rival once suffered from a mental crackup, which he is all set to use. Then his scrupulous antagonist comes across some incriminating evidence about Cantwell, which he is loath to produce. Throw in the candidates's advisers and wives as well as the former president eager to hand-pick his successor and what you have is a hilarious and biting comedy about American politics in all its ugly glory.

The deals show up on your directory listing as well as the links to Hot Deals throughout our website.
If you have forgotten your Member Center login or password, simply go to the Member Center link and click on "Forgot Password". An email will be sent to you with your password or a link to reset your password.
All of this is a FREE ADVERTISING benefit to you as a member of the PBA. And who doesn't like free???
