Building Pride Private Fundraising Campaign Set to Launch
As was announced earlier this summer, a private fundraising effort to construct activity complexes at both Liberty High School and Liberty North High School is scheduled to begin Thursday, September 1, 2016.  To officially kick off the campaign, Building Pride campaign rallies have been scheduled for Thursday evening, September 1, at both high schools.  Liberty North High School will hold its rally from 7-8 p.m. at the LNHS Field House, followed immediately by the Liberty High School rally at 8:15 p.m. on the new turf field in front of Liberty High School.  Among the guests and speakers in attendance at these events will be war hero and motivational speaker Drew Meyerowich, along with campaign and district personnel.

Blue Jay/Eagle Football Game Details for Friday Night
Friday night, September 2, the Liberty High School Blue Jays and Liberty North High School Eagles will face off in the inaugural Friday night varsity football match-up at 7 p.m.  This is sure to be an exciting night for not only the two high schools, but for our entire district and community!

Liberty High School will be the home team, and fans will occupy the west stands, while Liberty North High School will be located in the east stands as the visitors.  With this game being the first between the two football programs and with the excitement on the field at William Jewell College, coupled with the kick-off of the Building Pride District Activity Complexes Campaign, ALL district-wide activity passes will be honored to gain admittance into Greene Stadium.  The Building Pride Campaign Committee will also have a strong presence at Friday's game and will be accepting donations.

In addition, Friday's game will be the KSMO-TV Game of the Week and will be broadcast live throughout the metro and region.  We wish both the Blue Jays and Eagles the best of luck, not only this week, but for the remainder of the season!
LPS News to Know
LPS Launches Electronic Flyer Management Tool
Earlier today, Liberty Public Schools launched a new electronic flyer communication tool called Peachjar.  For district families and stakeholders to view school-approved eflyers, you will simply click the Peachjar button on your school's website homepage (which will be posted next week).  All LPS parents have been sent an email informing them of this transition.

This "green" initiative will save our schools and district ample amounts of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. On top of that, posting school flyers in this electronic backpack removes a significant administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers.

A Peachjar logo (similar to the one posted above) will be included in QuickNews each week moving forward.
Coffee with the Community Returns Thursday, September 8
The Liberty Public Schools community engagement series, Coffee with the Community, returns for another year on Thursday, September 8.  We will be joined by Liberty Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Jeremy Tucker, who will present the audience with a district update, which will include a time for questions and answers.  Please take note that this month's meeting will begin at a special time of 9 a.m. in the 3rd floor Board Room of the District Administration Center, 8 Victory Lane.  For more information and a detailed listing of the meetings scheduled for the upcoming semester, click here.

MESSY MANIA for the Little Ones
Attention parents with infant children through pre-kindergarten! Come join Parents as Teachers for Messy Mania!  All those fun, but oh, so messy activities you've wanted to do with your little darlings, but may have been afraid to try on your own - water play, different ways to create with various kinds of paint, textures, and more!

Dig out those old play clothes, roll up your sleeves, and enjoy a morning of getting...MESSY and possibly wet.  We will have fun exploring the sights, sounds, and sensations of messy play. Most activities will be outside, with the playground being available for play.

When:  Saturday, September 10, from 9-11 a.m.
Place:  Liberty Early Childhood Center, 9600 NE 79th St., Kansas City, MO

*Remember, this is MESSY MANIA  - appropriate clothing for getting messy and wet is a good idea for both children and parents!

QuickNews Bulletin Board
In an effort to make our Liberty Public Schools e-newsletter, QuickNews (QN), a concise publication, which subscribers may read in a timely fashion, district/community announcements will be advertised in the main QuickNews section for a maximum of two weeks.  After this period of time, announcements will be transferred to our QuickNews Bulletin Board, which is located on the LPS website provided at the link below. In addition, the Bulletin Board may include announcements not meeting the criteria to be placed in this publication. The addition of the QN Bulletin Board allows them to now be publicized. This bulletin board will continuously be updated throughout the week, and announcements will remain until they expire by date.
