2016-2017 School Year Off to Great Start!
This morning, Liberty Public Schools greeted just over 12,500 students to all of our district buildings.  As is always the case, it was exciting to see so many smiling faces enter schools to begin the new year, especially the 849 kindergartners who are now with us!  Many of our families have been submitting photos of their first day's experience, and we have posted them our official Facebook page, which may be accessed by clicking here.

We look forward to sharing with you all of the great things that are in store for our students, staff, and families over the course of this school year!  Welcome back, LPS!

Building Pride Private Fundraising Campaign Set to Launch
After years of planning and deliberation, Liberty Public Schools is moving forward with developing two activity complexes, by utilizing the existing facilities and footprint of the track and infield area at both high schools, to fully develop each area through a private fundraising campaign.

The activity complexes will serve each high school and our community for decades to come. In addition to adding turf this summer, plans are under development to allow for the construction of additional improvements at both schools. The plans call for Liberty High School and Liberty North High School to add a press box/home bleachers, concession facility with restrooms, new scoreboard/video board, and a new entry plaza. Liberty North will also require lights and visitor bleachers. Once the projects are completed, both schools will be able to host games and practices for men's and women's soccer, football, track and field, other sports such as rugby and lacrosse, as well as marching band, drum line and flag corp practices, halftime performances and annual marching band competitions, along with a host of other community events and activities.

A Building Pride Fundraising Kick-off event has been scheduled to take place at each high school on Thursday evening, September 1. The event at Liberty North High School will take place from 7-8 p.m., followed by an event at Liberty High School beginning at 8:15 p.m.  More details regarding these events will be provided next week.

In the meantime, you are encouraged to follow the Building Pride campaign on the official Facebook page and Twitter page.
