The Liberty Public Schools Board of Education met for its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.  Following, is a recap of that meeting:

Board Members Thanked for Service
January 24-30, 2016, has officially been reserved as School Board Recognition Week, proclaimed by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.  To begin this month's Board meeting, Dr. Tucker, and those in attendance, thanked the Board of Education for their service to LPS.  In addition, each LPS building submitted tokens of appreciation to our board members at the meeting.  Thank you to all of our Board members for your service! 
Two Candidates File for Two Board Seats
Board of Education candidate filing officially closed at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.  Two candidates filed for the two open seats.  These candidates were Mr. Scott Connor and Mr. Andrew Roffmann, both current members of the LPS Board of Education.  Since the same number of applicants filed as were number of seats available, there will not be a need for an election in April.  Mr. Connor and Mr. Roffmann will be sworn into office at the reorganization meeting in April.

Next Board Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16

The Board will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, February 16, at the District Administration Center. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Ways to Stay Informed on Board Happenings

The public has several opportunities to stay informed of LPS Board of Education happenings. Following, are methods in which monthly Board meetings can be viewed.

 

Channel 18 Coverage

The Liberty Public Schools Cable Television Channel, KLPS-TV Channel 18, records each Board meeting that takes place on the third Monday of each month and replays the meeting for approximately one week, usually beginning the Thursday following the regularly-scheduled meeting. They will be shown daily at 8 a.m.  Households need to have Time Warner Cable service to receive Channel 18 programming.
