The Liberty Public Schools Board of Education met for its regular meeting on Monday, October 19, 2015.  Following, is a recap of that meeting:
Meeting Highlights
Foreign Language Student/Teacher Recognized
The Board recognized Liberty High School Junior Lynsie Daniels, who was recently presented with the Best of Foreign Language High School Award by the Foreign Language Association of Missouri at an event held in downtown Kansas City on Friday, October 16. In addition, Liberty High School International Language Teacher, Ms. Astrid Ruiz, is now serving as the President-Elect for the Foreign Language Association of Missouri, as she will soon be representing the voices of all foreign language teachers in Missouri. Congratulations to both!
Board Business
Board Approves Staff Health/Benefits Package
The Board officially approved the health/benefits insurance recommendation presented last month by LPS Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker.  The recommendation was first developed by the district's internal staff committee, Team Liberty, who then presented it to Dr. Tucker.  To view details of the health/benefits insurance renewal, click here.

Next Board Meeting Scheduled for Monday, Nov. 16

The Board will hold its next regular meeting on Monday, November 16, at the District Administration Center. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Ways to Stay Informed on Board Happenings

The public has several opportunities to stay informed of LPS Board of Education happenings. Following, are methods in which monthly Board meetings can be viewed.

 

Channel 18 Coverage

The Liberty Public Schools Cable Television Channel, KLPS-TV Channel 18, records each Board meeting that takes place on the third Monday of each month and replays the meeting for approximately one week, usually beginning the Thursday following the regularly-scheduled meeting. They will be shown daily at 8 a.m.  Households need to have Time Warner Cable service to receive Channel 18 programming.
