I Like Big Yarn and I Cannot Lie...

Does it feel like fall yet? Has the cold, wet, Vancouver weather started to seep into your bones? Well, we all know that the best way to warm up is a nice mug of whatever you prefer, and of course, knitting with some big, bulky, warm, enveloping yarn!

First up is Blue Sky Alpacas Extra. This 55% alpaca, 45% fine merino blend is simply put, divine. A heavy aran weight, it comes in a range of rich, comforting colours. And it's so soft. I can't get over how soft this yarn is.

Next, Madeleinetosh A.S.A.P. The name kind of says it all. Want to knit something nice and decadent? In a hurry? Need it done ASAP? The questions is no longer which yarn, but which colour?

And finally, bringing up the big fluffy rear is Borgo de'Pazzi Grosso. This yarn is truly 'super bulky'. Perfect for arm-knitting. Available in a few select colours, this is a truly unique yarn that really has to be seen to be believed!

Beat the blues with Noro

Nothing brightens up the dark post-time change days quite like vibrant, unpredictable colour. We've got some new yarns and books in from Noro to help keep your spirits up this season.

Hanabatake: 55% wool, 35% silk, 10% mohair

Hanabatake is a colourful aran-weight blend of some of Noro's favourite base yarns. We've got five fun, engaging colourways for you to choose from, but choosing may be no easy task...

Silk Garden Solo: 45% silk, 45% mohair, 10% lambswool

Silk Garden Solo takes the venerable Silk Garden yarn and gives us ten more... predictable colours for you to play with. Great on their own, together, or as a complement to the vibrant traditional Silk Garden.

And finally, Noro has a few new books out as well. A Way of Life by Claudia Wersing and Designer Mini Knits Four by Jenny Watson are both full of great ideas for gift knitting, if you're looking for some ideas!
