- Always Something New -
Shawls, wraps and scarves are still all the rage and this book is a compilation of designs from creative designers that explore different combinations of colour, fiber, and stitch patterns. The possibilities are endless!
Canyon, a beautiful new yarn from Classic Elite, combines pima cotton with a touch of undyed alpaca creating a smooth, silky and light yarn that is available in four subtly toned neutral shades. Star Lily, one of our favourite new patterns featured in Canyon 9211, is a vest knit sideways in stockinette stitch that can be worn in three different ways.
Sirdar's new yarn, Ella, is a DK weight cotton, acrylic, polyester blend with just a glimmer of sparkle running throughout. This super soft yarn comes in a range of summer pastels and is machine washable!
Koigu Magazine Issue Four contains a large selection of patterns that explore colour and texture using a variety of Koigu yarns and has choices for the novice as well as the experienced knitter.

- Project Ideas -
Don't get scared off by the pattern name zombie viXen - these adorable fingerless gloves, available from Susan Claudino as a free Ravelry download, may well be good for keeping your hands warm while chasing away Zombie's but they are also very fashionable. Ruth, pictured modelling them, knit them using Hand Maiden's Casbah in colour Ruby, fitting for the season.
Love Actually is All Around, a cowl pattern that uses double knitting and a heart-shaped pattern layout that looks great inside and out. And, with the extra layer provided by the double knitting, this cowl is extra warm and cozy. The yarn suggested is Madelinetosh Tosh DK.
Or, if you're looking for a last minute Valentine's gift, why not create a handful of knitted hearts, easy to make with any felting yarn. Who can't help but love them, especially with the added touch of the little eyes!
