Make a Kitchen Work for You

Kitchens must support so many activities for families. Clearing the clutter will create an organized space ready to support your families fun. Try these tips to make sure your kitchen will work for you and not against you.
Store unused dishes and cookware. Forty percent of your dishes and cookware are used for guests or special occasions. Try storing them on top shelves or out of the way areas to keep your prime real estate area free for daily usage items.
Clear counter space of seldom used appliances. Better yet, can you eliminate that bread maker or pasta maker that you have not used in years? How about the canisters, can you put these on a shelf with your baking items?
Create a zone for mail and papers. Pick one spot where the children will know to put school papers and is visible to give you the reminder to act on those papers and not let them pile up.
Organize an "all purpose" or "junk" drawer. Include a stapler, scissors, markers, tape, pens/pencils/crayons or anything else that you use often. Use draw dividers to keep items grouped and not floating all over.
Place a few games, DVD's, coloring books, reading books, etc. in an accessible drawer or shelf for children to access.
