Drowsy Driving
Compelling Information

Individuals who commute home after working the night shift may be at a high risk for "drowsy driving crashes" because of disruption to their sleep-wake cycles and insufficient sleep during the night."  Nearly 40% of night shift workers who took part in a test drive following a night  shift experienced a NEAR CRASH event according to new research from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety. The same drivers, with normal sleep the night before the test, had zero near-crashes."
  
This is compelling information that anybody who works the "night shift" should consider.

Many of us have secured loans for our homes and cars. These loans are "sold" and/or "discharged" frequently and we have no way of knowing about it. Please be sure to tell us if the status of your home or auto loans changes so that we can make the necessary updates to your policies. 

If we don't know and we have the incorrect information on the policies at the time a claim occurs, the claims check will be made payable to the  on record as well as the named insured.  It can be a tedious and time consuming process for you to correct the situation and we would hate to see your payments held up because of it.

How many of you are provided company cars?

If you are one of our many clients that are provided company cars for your employment, or are owners of your own company and drive company cars, then pay attention to these key points:

                -If you do not have any PERSONAL auto insurance coverage in your home and/or you are not listed as a driver on a personal auto policy, you have NO COVERAGE for personal use of any auto.
                -If you drive a commercially owned car, but are listed on a household members PERSONAL auto policy, then you would have coverage for personal use.
 
                -If there are no personal cars in the household , then you need to contact your COMMERCIAL AUTO company and ask them to add DRIVE OTHER CAR coverage to your commercial auto policy. In essence, this endorsement to the commercial auto policy will provide PERSONAL LIABILITY. As such, you would have personal coverage  when operating rental or borrowed cars.
 
This is especially important if you have PERSONAL UMBRELLA coverage in place. Without Drive OTHER CAR coverage you would have a gap in liability coverage that could put your assets at risk.
