Caught Off Guard

Oh no! Nightfall was setting in and a storm was brewing, needless to say I was anxious to get home after a long day. I settled into my car and turned the ignition and nothing. It would not start. Of course, it is barely out of warranty. As I watched my car being towed to the repair shop and waited for my uncle to give me a ride, I had to laugh at all of our car problems. My husband's car needed an expensive repair so that it could pass our state emission testing in the next month. Due to the very high mileage, the mechanic is recommending replacing the car. And our college aged daughter's car decided it did not want to drive in reverse any longer.
With all of the car problems we have experienced this week, you would think we drove old beat up clunkers. But that is not the case at all. We do have older cars but they are not THAT old and besides we maintain them very well. However no matter how well maintained, car problems do happen, often at the worst possible time. In fact not only do we have car problems, but problems with our homes, and problems with our electronics, and problems with our health. How can we be prepared when we have no idea when these crises will happen?
