Overall it was a tough week due to multiple days with high winds but we still had a half dozen quality fish photographed at the general store. Those diehard anglers who were able to overcome the weather had success and hooked some keepers. All the fish reported to the store were in the 3 pound range.

Catch of the Week: Rene Solano from San Diego, CA was using a Kastmaster when he landed this stout 3 pound 8 ounce Rainbow along the South Shore.

Other notable catches this week:
  • Greg Yudt from El Segundo, CA with a fat 3 pound 5 ounce Rainbow that he landed while fishing the Shore Shore. Greg was using a Nightcrawler.

Tactics/Bait: Once again, Inflated Nightcrawlers and Powerbait were the top baits this week. The top Powerbait color was Rainbow. Some of the most productive lures were Thomas Buoyants, Tasmanian Devils and Kasmasters. In the creek try Salmon Eggs, small spinners or Marvel Flies. The hot location this week was the South Shore. Alternative locations to try would be the Inlet, North Shore, Jetty/Outlet Area and Hangman's Tree.

Here is a list of other baits/lures that can be productive: Panther Martins, Tasmanian Devils, green or brown Marvel Fly Lures, Kastmasters, NeedleFish, Roostertails, and garlic scent on Powerbait.

Here is a list of recommended flies:
Dry Flies: Adams, Female Adams, Cutter's Caddis, Elk Hair Caddis, Stimulators, Black/Red Ants, Sierra Bright Dot, Royal Coachman and Hoppers.
