In two months from now, our 27th Annual Conference will take place and discuss 'Professional Higher Education 4.0: A Change for Universities of Applied Sciences'.

The programme of the conference has now been largely published - including information on the social programme on Saturday 1 April.

On 6-7 February, EURASHE and the Belgian ARES organised a seminar on quality assurance "Managing your institution's quality with the latest practices and policies". The material of the seminar, as well as photographs, is now available online.

The SAPS project works on supporting apprenticeships and internships between professional higher education and small and medium size enterprises, and is currently recruiting experts to develop mechanism for supporting SMEs new to providing internships. The deadline for applications is 26 February. More information on the call and the process is available online.

Call for candidates for President of EQAR, call open until 7 March

The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) is looking for a suitable individual to fill the position of President for the term 1 July 2017 - 30 June 2020. The call for candidates, explaining the nature of the position and the selection criteria, has now been published. The Selection Committee invites individuals to declare their candidacy. The closing date for candidacies is 7 March 2017, 24:00 CET. All details and the call for candidates is available on our website. 


The Erasmus+ mid-term evaluation will assess the effectiveness of the Erasmus+ actions to achieve the programme's objectives and evaluate the efficiency of the Programme and its European added value. EURASHE has joined the Lifelong Learning Platform's Coalition built to advocate towards members of the European Parliament and colleagues from the European Commission. This Coalition wishes to strengthen the voice of European civil society organisations and education representatives and present our needs and recommendations for further implementation of the Erasmus+ programme to decision makers.

EURASHE is a partner in the PROCSEE project on Strengthening Professional Higher Education and VET in Central & South Eastern Europe. The project has now published its first Policy Challenge Statement for Professional Higher Education in Central and South-Eastern Europe, which is the result of extensive expert work through the project national and international expert networks.

Entitled 'From University to Employment: mapping higher education provision and labour market needs in the Western Balkans', the study focuses on higher education provision and labour market needs in the Western Balkans, offering concrete data for policy reform in both higher education and labour sectors. The study offers a set of concrete recommendations to tackle the identified issues, both at individual country level and at regional level.
