WHAT IS PROFESSIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION?

VIEW THE PUBLICATION OF THE HAPHE PROJECT

The report presents the definition of professional higher education and the accompanying framework of characteristics which are outcomes of the collaborative authoring of the HAPHE team. This publication was made possible by replies to our survey from more than 600 European stakeholders and by discussion in 12 national and European validation seminars. The report starts out with a short historical view on "academisation" and "professionalisation," illustrating how much professional higher education (PHE) in Europe has been in flux in the past years.
