SUPPORTING PROFESSIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION IN EUROPE
 
yerevanEURASHE will organise on 15-16 May 2014 its 24th Annual Conference titled 'Qualifications for the Labour Market'.



It will be hosted by the Yerevan State University (YSU) and the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction (YSUAC) and with the support of Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia and the Rectors Council of Armenian State Higher Educational Institutions. It will be preceded by meetings of the General Assembly of EURASHE and of its Council on Wednesday 14 May 2014.

The main theme of this year's conference is 'Qualifications for the Labour Market', concentrating on the important topic of employability but also tools and models enhancing it. Plenary, working and training sessions will consider, amongst others, the themes of recognition and national education systems, apprenticeships, learning outcomes, and University-Business Cooperation.

validationEURASHE, and its partners of the HAPHE project, will organise on 5 February 2014 in Brussels (Belgium) an 'EU Validation Seminar on Defining Professional Higher Education'.



Its aim will be to validate the draft definition and characteristics of professional higher education that the partners identified in the first phase of the project, through desk research and a wide survey with more than 600 stakeholders involved. These results are presented in the publication Profile of Professional Higher Education in Europe

This 'EU Validation Seminar on Defining Professional Higher Education' will bring together main stakeholders in the field, and gather their input on the proposed definition and characteristics. It will take place on 5 February 2014, starting at 2.00 pm, in the EURASHE offices in Brussels, and followed by a cocktail reception.

reportThe report of the 'Seminar on the Implementation of Internal and External Quality Assurance' organised on 24-25 October 2014 in Bucharest (Romania) is now published.



It was organised with the support of Ministry of National Education of Romania, and hosted by the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration  (SNSPA).

Participants had the opportunity to learn more on topics like Profiling and quality assuring professional higher education or on Cultural mirrors: A dialectical approach to quality culture. All presentations and input by speakers are available in our library. The report, summing up the debates, including the closing round table between the president of EURASHE and the minister of education of Romania is also available in our library.

EURASHE organised on 13 December 2013 a 'Community of Practice Workshop on Learning Outcomes in PHE Context' in Prague (Czech Republic), jointly with the Czech Association of Schools of Professional Higher Education (CASPHE) and the College of Nursing (VSZ).



Learninng outcomes practitioners from institutions throughout Europe had the opportunity to exchange best practices on the implementation of learning outcomes in different disciplines and their lessons learned in the process. The material of the workshop is now available in our library.

The report will be published in February.

councilEURASHE BOARD & COUNCIL MEETING - 7-8/FEB/14
EURASHE's Council will meet on 8 February 2014 in Brussels (Belgium) for its first meeting of 2014, preceded by the Board on 7 February. Discussions will include the working agenda for the year as well as the annual conferences of EURASHE for the period 2014-2016.
On 18 March 2014, the 7 organisations (ENQA, ESU, EUA, EURASHE, EI, BUSINESSEUROPE, and EQAR) involved in the revision process of the ESG are organising an information day on the revised ESG. It will take place in Brussels (Belgium).
installREFLECTIVITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION - 20-21/MAR/14
On 20-21 March 2014 the INSTALL project is organising its launching conference on 'Reflectivity in higher education: research and models of intervention for underachieving students' in Naples (Italy). Topics will include: key competences in higher education, innovative approaches to promote learning to learn.
dyslexiaDYSLEXIA IN BILINGUAL CONTEXT - 23-29/MAR/14
TietgenSkolen is organising a workshop on 'Dyslexia in a bilingual context' on 23-29 March 2014 in Odense (Denmark). Participants will exchange knowledge, experiences and practices to find best practices for how to handle bilingual dyslexic teaching.
On 23-25 April 2014 in Barcelona (Spain), the SPACE Network is organising its 25th Annual Conference on 'Developing Jobs, Careers and Growth via Innovative Higher Education'. The General Assembly and the Board of SPACE will also gather.
