The HAPHE project reached the second stage in its development, after Mapping Professional Higher Education in Europe. The consortium recently published the Profile of Professional Higher Education in Europe and the first results were showcased at EURASHE seminar on quality assurance in Bucharest (Romania).

The next phase consists of incorporating the findings into the experts' discussion, in order to further define and characterise professional higher education and highlight their core criteria for each defined characteristic. To this end, the HAPHE project organised the second meeting of the Expert Group on PHE on 12 November in Stuttgart (Germany) with two external experts on European higher education: Ann Verreth (Belgium-Flanders) and Regitze S. Kristensen (Denmark).

The final stage of the HAPHE Expert Group on PHE is the third meeting, to be organised on 11 December in Prague (Czech Republic). The final set of proposed definition, characteristics and their quality core, in the form of a policy paper, will be presented to European stakeholders in early 2014 in a series of local, national and European validation seminars.
