The registrations to EURASHE's 23rd Annual Conference on 'HIGHER EDUCATION - MAKING THE KNOWLEDGE TRIANGLE WORK' will close on Thursday 2 May 2013.

Already more than 140 participants have registered to our 23rd Annual Conference.

Keynote speakers will provide both an institutional and project-based perspective to the theme and boost further discussions in the parallel working sessions. Working sessions chairs will provide a brief content input, ensuring later discussion and sharing of best practice. In each of the tracks, one working session will be devoted to the regional perspective (Western Balkans) to the theme.

Join us in Split (Croatia) on 9-10 May 2013 with our 7 Keynote Speakers on the three sides of the Knowledge Triangle: EDUCATION, INNOVATION, EMPLOYABILITY.

eqaf

We are happy to announce that the 8th European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF) will take place on 21-23 November 2013 at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden).

Through a mix of plenary and parallel sessions, the 2013 edition of EQAF, entitled "Working together to take quality forward", will specifically explore how both individuals and organisations can better understand the role that quality assurance can play in their daily lives, get engaged and work together to take quality forward.

The Forum organisers, ENQA, ESU, EUA and EURASHE, have now opened a call for contributions from QA practitioners in higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies, students, institutional leaders and researchers in the field. Two types of contributions are sought: papers and workshops.

EURASHE has been involved in the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) Ad-Hoc Working Group on the Revision of the ECTS Users' Guide.

Specifically the Group is tasked with preparing a revised version of the ECTS Users' Guide by mid-2014, by reflecting on policy development and implementation in the area of ECTS and learning outcomes since the previous revision of the ECTS Users' Guide in 2009, giving consideration to amongst others:

  • Linking ECTS better with student workload and learning outcomes
  • ECTS in short-cycle provision, in first and second cycle programmes of different length and in third cycle
  • Reflecting on the use of the Grading table in Annex 3 of the current ECTS Users' Guide

A year ago this week, the Ministers in charge of higher education in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) mandated the E4-Group (ENQA, ESU, EUA and EURASHE) in cooperation with the 3 stakeholders organisations Education International (EI), BUSINESSEUROPE and the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) to propose a revised version of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ESG).

Since July 2012, the Revision Process of the ESG has begun, with both a Steering Group and a Drafting Group ensuring the efficiency and quality of our work.

Information have been regularly provided to the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) overseeing the overall follow-up of decisions met in the EHEA arena.

Interim outcomes will be presented to the BFUG delegates in November.

joqar
Today, quality assurance and recognition of joint programmes still is a major challenge. The conference 'Quality Assurance and Recognition of Joint Programmes: The Art and the Passion' provides higher education institutions recognition authorities, quality assurance and accreditation agencies, and policy makers with the latest update on the solutions developed by the European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA) in the framework of the JOQAR project.

EURASHE is taking part in the Stakeholder Group of the JOQAR project (Joint Programmes - Quality Assurance and Recognition of degrees awarded), supported by the European Commission

The Conference will take place on 20-21 June 2013 at Circulo de Bellas Artes (CBA) in Madrid (Spain).
