It was a well-spent Saturday morning of February 23rd, 2013 when English Online hosted another monthly webinar for ESL Practitioners on Portfolio Assessment in the ESL Classroom. We would like to thank our wonderful presenters - Joanne Pettis  and Briar Jamieson

    •  Revised CLB- Part 3: Exemplars to Support the Canadian Language Benchmarks,   March 19, 2:30 pm -3:30 pm CDT. This webinar discusses the exemplars for the four skills (found in the CLB Support Kit) and their purpose and benefits for instructors and other users of the revised CLB.     • English for Financial Literacy Resource, March 27, 2013, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm CDT.
      Presenters will give an overview of the project, discuss ideas and suggestions for incorporating financial literacy into settlement programs, and present sample sections of the print resource, including the planning framework and classroom-ready activities for CLB 1-8.   • TEAM Conference: Call for Proposals and  Registrations .
    This year, the TEAM Conference (Teachers of EAL to Adults in Manitoba) will be held on Friday, May 24th, 2013 at The University of Winnipeg. The theme for the conference is
    'Cultivating Sustainable Teaching Practices in the EAL Community'

Call for Presenters:

If you are interested in presenting on this theme, as it relates to practices within a classroom, a school, or the larger community, please fill out a Workshop Proposal Application Form and submit it to Terena Caryk at t.caryk@uwinnipeg.ca or mail it to the address provided in the form by April 5th, 2013.

 

Call for Registrations: Registration for general conference attendance is now open. If you are interested in registering, please complete the

appropriate form and return it to Rebecca Siebert at rebsie@wtc.mb.ca or mail it to the address provided in the form.
