Everything is broken at my place. It is very frustrating. I am struggling to let God be God and not worry about the material stuff. It is cold and gray outside on April 3rd! What kind of place do we live in? I am ready for spring!

Food for Thought...
I believe our nation is headed for very hard, even disastrous times. I do not believe politics will fix our economy - it's too far gone - too much debt to ever pay back. We depend completely on our fragile technological infrastructure for food, water, shelter, transportation, and entertainment. Any number of events could cause a sudden collapse of our system e.g., electric grid collapse from terrorism, natural event like solar flare, simple breakdown from lack of modernization, or Israel attacks Iran and the price of oil skyrockets, or China stops buying our treasury bonds. I am feeling called to prepare for such disaster by working to be less dependent and more self-sufficient. Proverbs 17:24 24 A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool's eyes wander to the ends of the earth.
While there is something to be said for having big dreams, this proverb points out the folly of chasing fantasies. How much better to align your goals with God's, being the kind of person he wants you to be! Such goals (wisdom, honesty, patience, love) may not seem exciting, but they will determine your eternal future. Take time to think about your dreams and goals, and make sure they cover the really important areas of life.

John 8:21-27
21 Once more Jesus said to them, "I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come."
22 This made the Jews ask, "Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, 'Where I go, you cannot come'?"
23 But he continued, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins."
25 "Who are you?" they asked.
"Just what I have been telling you from the beginning," Jesus replied. 26 "I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world."
27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28 So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up[a] the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him." 30 Even as he spoke, many believed in him.
No matter how good a person is by earthly standards, he or she falls short of the holiness of God. Only Jesus can make us worthy to stand before God. By surrendering our lives to Him, we live in Him and do not die in our sin. We can then be used by Him to fulfill the purposes He made us for. There is no greater joy and no more important work. Everyone who understands what Jesus claimed to be must make a choice to surrender to Him and be saved, or to reject Him and die in sin.
