Dear friends of ArtSS,
We need your help. Sandy Springs is considering making a state-of-the-art performance venue as part of the City Center project. This venue would the only one of its kind north of midtown Atlanta, providing a theater location for local groups like Sandy Springs' Act3 as well as national touring companies and individual performers. What a wonderful opportunity for Sandy Springs residents and other locals who would prefer seeing a performance in a more convenient and less expensive location north of the Perimeter.
The Sandy Springs City Council will vote on the performance venue in early September. A special called meeting will be held at City Hall on Wednesday of this week, August 27, 6 - 8 pm, to discuss this project with the community. We are asking you to express support of a performing arts venue in Sandy Springs.
Unfortunately, those who oppose the project have been very vocal in contacting Council members as well as the media. Sometimes the opposition is the only loud voice. Don't let this wonderful opportunity for the arts community die by assuming there is nothing you can do! Consider attending the meeting to voice your support. Please take a moment to send an email expressing your support for the venue. Even if you do not live in Sandy Springs, you can let the Council know that an amazing venue like this would bring you, along with your disposable income, into the city!
