NEXT STEPS IN DETERMINING FEASIBILITY OF
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER FOR SANDY SPRINGS:
PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE JULY 24, 2014
A Public Information Open House will be held this Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 6 p.m. regarding options for a Performing Arts Facility for City Center. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall, 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.
Johnson Consulting, the firm commissioned by the City to explore options for a Performing Arts Center as part of the City Center Master Plan, presented their findings in early July. As part of their presentation, Johnson recommended the City explore a 750 to 1,000-seat facility, including adjoining lobby and meeting space to allow for multiple group use. The City Council directed the City Center planning team, including architect Rosser International and Master Developer Carter/Selig, to review the recommendations and provide the City with different scenarios which would fit within the City Center Master Plan.
The City Council will hear those recommendations in a special called meeting on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 beginning at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The Public Open House will be held the following evening from 6 - 8 p.m., providing an opportunity for the public to ask questions. Both meetings are open to the public.
