Calling All Volunteers!

Many of you have asked what you can do for ArtSandySprings.  We welcome your help and here is your chance!  All members and prospective members, please take note of upcoming events and opportunities to volunteer or to come and participate in these special festive activities.  Look for the full calendar and plans in our September Newsletter.

September 25-26, 2010 - Sandy Springs Festival
 
The annual Sandy Springs Festival will be centered once again at Heritage Green, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.  ArtSandySprings will have its own booth at this community festival with literature about our organization, the premier group supporting all the arts in Sandy Springs.  A surprise visit is expected from Taxi, a limestone, cedar, and cypress sculpture that was one of the ten finalists of the ArtSS in the Open sculpture contest held in May, 2010.  Come by to visit ArtSS members or volunteer for a shift on Sunday afternoon by calling Sherry Berkgmark at 770-335-2987.

October 2, 2010 - Public Presentation of the 2010 ArtSS in the Open Sculpture Contest Finalists
 
The Mayor of Sandy Springs, Eva Galambos, will preside over the public unveiling of the ten sculptures which will be held at the Sandy Springs Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System, 395 Mount Vernon Highway.  All ten sculptors will be in attendance. This celebration will include art activities, hot dogs and soft drinks served by Boy Scouts, and musical entertainment by violinists from the Suzuki School, and local middle school and high school band groups.  ArtSS invites the public to wander the grounds of the Library and the adjacent ArtSS Reading Garden to enjoy the sculptures and musical sounds of children.
