Dedication of Library Reading Garden

Greetings!

Come Enjoy the Fruits of Your Efforts!

Dedication of Library Reading Garden on April 18, 2010

Peace Pole

Adjacent to the east side of the Sandy Springs Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System, 395 Mount Vernon Highway, a tranquil Reading Garden has been developed on land which was donated to the Library by the Sandy Springs Woman's Club.  The improvements have been made possible by a host of community efforts under the direction of Art Sandy Springs and the stellar leadership of Laura Jones, Chair.

Join us with our special guest, Fulton County Commissioner Tom Lowe, on April 18, from 2:30 to 3:30 for a free community-wide dedication of our new Reading Garden, A Celebration of Peace.  Music will be provided by The Franklin Pond Bach and Roll String Quartet and the Ridgeview Middle School Chorus.  There will be an unveiling of an international peace pole and a classical-designed labyrinth.  During this dedication, sixteen Riverwood High School students will recite  prayers for peace in their native languages. A representative from Atlanta Peace Trails will welcome the Sandy Springs peace pole to the "Places of Peace" in metro-Atlanta and share a brief historical perspective of labyrinths and peace poles.

Join us for this important free community event - rain or shine (the dedication will be held inside the Library in the event of rain).  For more information, please contact Laura Jones, 770-9510021, or via E-Mail.
