Installation of Planters on Roswell Road
 Bows - Revised
As part of its mission of supporting the landscape arts in Sandy Springs, ArtSS implemented a planter project along Roswell Road to provide colorful and repeating pockets of greenery along the heavily traveled main retail corridor of Sandy Springs.  The project was funded entirely by private individual or business sponsorship of each planter.

In the spring of 2009, ArtSS placed and planted the first ten containers along the Roswell Rd. , mainly between Hammond Drive and Hilderbrand Drive.  The planters are large (6'L x 3'H x 3'D) and solidly constructed of concrete with a pebble grain surface. The initial plantings consist of a colorful combination of evergreens, perennials, and spring annuals, and the Sandy Springs Fire Department is taking care of their watering.  The annuals will be replaced every spring and fall to keep the containers colorful year-round.

Enthusiasm for the project is so high that now twelve more donors have stepped forward to sponsor planters. These additional planters will be placed in the spring of 2010.

The Ridgeview Chorus and the Franklin Pond Orchestra will be performing.
