The 4th Art & Artifacts Benefit on April 13th hosted by ArtHaus Art Studio was a wonderful evening filled with former Journey of Hope Team members, Lost Boys & Girls dancing and singing, hand sculpted pieces made by the South Sudanese, over 40 artists pieces and African artifacts, long-time and new supporters of PESS.
The call to raise the funds needed to help complete our final "brick & mortar" phase by finishing our final four classroom building to serve 450 students at Tong Pagook Primary School in Baidit Payam, was met and exceeded our expectations!
We raised $42,000 thanks to you! This will help us reach our goal by 2013 allowing the students to come out from under a tree and hot sun into a classroom with desks and blackboard!
We want to extend a special thank you to DU Korbel Intern Katherine Burley, Event Director and Ralph & Trish Nagel, Honorary Chairs. We also want to thank all 40 artists, our ArtHaus hosts Michael Gadlin and Aliki McCain, PESS volunteers, corporate sponsors and food donors who made the evening an overwhelming success.
