December 2012 Happy Holidays from South Sudan!
The year-end is here, colorful decorations of the holiday season are dominating street lights, and there are plenty of reasons to give endless thanks to God flowing into our minds. As the holidays are approaching, many of us are thinking of loved ones and planning to shop for a variety of special gifts to give to the ones we care most about.
I have an idea for you to think of. This year, while you're thinking of presents for your friends and family, consider giving a special gift to the children of South Sudan. I ask you to make a donation on behalf of the3000 young orphans and children at Anguei Girls Boarding, Pagook, and Gammeth primary schools. Your special donation during this year-end season will promote educational opportunities in the lives of the young emerging leaders in Pagook, Gammeth, and the one and only Anguei Girl Boarding School in Jonglei State.
Your endless generosity has enabled PESS to reach beyond, break through the deepest cultural boundaries in rural and remote areas, and provide a brighter future for the children of South Sudan. I have completed two years as our South Sudan Director giving us the momentum on the ground we have needed to accomplish so much. We are pleased that my position has been funded for 2013 once again through the generosity of a private donor. Now we will be able to complete the "brick and mortar" phase and assure the success of the sustainability and leadership development phase of our work in South Sudan.
Through the support of another private donor we have secured the funding for all of our US based operating expenses for 2013 which will allow 100% of the amount raised to be focused on projects in South Sudan, including the construction of four classrooms in my home village of Pagook.
I hope we can count on you to support our continued success. Wishing each and every one of you a wonderful holiday season!
