Ollie's Offerings
The laughter, singing and joy of Vacation Bible School has sounded in our ears at APC throughout the week. It's contagious! It has been a wonderful time of celebrating God and teaching faith to some of the youngest disciples in our care. Thanks to dedicated, creative and energetic leadership from adults, youth, staff and parents it was a great week...thanks be to God! Tonight the sanctuary and Fellowship Hall will fill for a week-ending VBS cookout and party. You are welcome to come hear their presentations and catch the Spirit!
As VBS ends and the sounds of young children quiet, we will next hear the sounds of youth loading up in vans and heading to western North Carolina for a week of volunteer service. Let us keep them in our prayers as they practice "the theology of the hammer" by putting God's love to work in the homes of the rural poor. They will leave at 8:15am Sunday morning.
When the organ plays its final note at the end of worship, you will hear the sounds of "Presbyterian Moving Day." Following the Sunday services, you will be asked to grab chair, a Bible or hymnal and help us vacate the sanctuary for the summer months. Boy Scouts will be here to facilitate the move. Renovation of the sanctuary begins first thing Monday morning so we need to turn the newly-painted and cleaned multipurpose room into a worship space.
Others sounds you're likely to hear this Sunday at APC: pastoral counselor Neal Kuhlhorst opening our adult education series on "The Spiritual Challenges of Mental Illness" from 9-10am in the theater and the late-afternoon sounds of beds being set-up as we convert the Alpha Building into a shelter for homeless families for the week. People of God, make a joyful noise in worship, fellowship, service and education!

Moving Day
APC is Movin' on Up! This coming Sunday will be "moving day" for our church. We have to move everything we need for continuing worship out of the sanctuary and to the multipurpose room (MPR) so that construction can start in the sanctuary on Monday. That includes some 145 padded chairs, four risers, hymnals, and several other items. So, immediately after the 10:30AM service those who are comfortable doing so will be asked to take a few of the chairs out the east door to waiting trailers, and then to go upstairs to help unload the chairs to the MPR. It's a rather big task, and we need help! With many hands it won't take long, so if you can help you might want to wear something comfortable and plan to stay for just a short time. Thanks so much for your consideration. |
| Sunday Morning
Beginning June 23, we will worship at 9:00 and 10:30 in the multipurpose room on the second floor of the education building. We will worship in the MPR until renovation in the sanctuary is complete in mid-August. |

Vacation Bible School
We have had a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School here at APC. Over 150 children plus adult and youth volunteers came and experienced Kingdom Rock! A BIG thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and many talents. It was a wonderful experience that blessed the lives of many children in our community. |
| Guest Liturgist
This Sunday, we welcome Rev. Neal Kuhlhorst as a liturgist for the 10:30am service. Neal is on the pastoral staff of the Johns Creek Presbyterian Church. He is a pastoral counselor and will be here at APC this Sunday as part of our summer education series "The Spiritual Challenge of Mental Illness."

| Nametags and Holders
Our nametags and nametag holders will be permanently removed during our summer renovation project. If you would like to have your nametag(s) and any other items in your holder, please remove them by this Thursday, June 20. The wall space will be repurposed to highlight denominational issues and various APC ministries. We would like to donate the lovingly made holders to another church or organization that might like them. If you know someone who would be interested, please contact Carol in the church office.

New Drake Closet
The Drake Closet of Alpharetta is opening soon!!! Due to the overwhelming support of its first store in Roswell, The Drake House is pleased to announce the opening of a second resale boutique this fall. The Drake Closet Alpharetta will be located at 26 Old Roswell Street (formerly The Cannery gift shop behind SmokeJack's restaurant) and will be convenient to dining, shopping and all of the unique events that downtown Alpharetta has to offer. All of the profits generated by The Drake Closet are used to fund programming for the families who reside at The Drake House.
In preparation for the September opening and planned to coincide with Alpharetta's Food Truck Alley, volunteers will be conducting a clothing drive at the new store every Thursday in June from 6-8pm. New and gently used ladies' clothing apparel is needed to stock the store and all of the following items are requested: dresses, formalwear, skirts, slacks, blouses, sweaters, jeans, shoes, boots, coats, handbags and costume jewelry. The Drake House is a 501(c)3 non-profit and all donations are tax-deductible.
The Drake House is one of APC's mission partners. The Drake House provides short-term crisis housing and support for homeless mothers and their children. It is the only emergency residential housing facility in north metro Atlanta.
