This summer is flying by. July is ending. Like many of you, we are planning our family vacation. Hobbes loves to travel with us in the car.

Unfortunately some pets get car sick.  Kallie, a 10-week old puppy, got sick very quickly and has lots of long drives in her future. In a few days, she was a car riding dog. Read her wonderful success story.

Did you know some cats travel well too? Read about three amazing cats.

If your pet travels well, review these tips on taking your pet with you. I learned from many trips with our dogs and Hobbes added his two cents too!

Be sure to take the camera (or your phone) to catch the really cute moments. Hobbes, the great car rider, provides entertainment on the road. John added small mirrors above the windshield so we can watch Hobbes looking cute in the back seat!

We take many trips without Hobbes. Over the years, I learned a lot on preparing for sending Hobbes to "camp" as we fly to our vacation. This list will make your trip preparation easier.

Fortunately there are so many options for boarding your pet. Hobbes does not do well in kennels. Like some dogs, cats, and rabbits, he needs people contact. Other pets need the special care because of age, abilities, or medication.

Hobbes' favorite "vacation spa" is Pets Are Inn. He loves the chauffeur who picks him up and takes him to a home selected for his needs. He is so happy about being picked up, he forgets we are leaving!

Have a wonderful vacation. May everyone come home rested and relaxed.

Take care,

Elaine
