In February, I was feed up with winter and declared we need to head south. I quickly booked a cruise on Holland America's Eurodam in the Western Caribbean.

With the temperature at -15, John and I flew out of Minneapolis to the warmth of Fort Lauderdale and boarded our ship. Port of calls were Bahamas, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Key West with two days at sea, and back to Fort Lauderdale.

For those who haven't gone without a jacket, worn shorts, wiggled your toes in the sand, or worn sandals for too long, this email is for you.

Stringrays

I stood in the water and watched the beautiful stingrays glide by in an netted area at Half Moon Cay and in the wild at Stingray City Sandbar, Cayman Islands. The stingrays would glide by, nudge my ankle with their wings, and often the wing would go up my leg.

Dolphin Experience

At Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rois, we had an amazing time being with a dolphin. We touched her, swam with her, and kissed her. Of course, she performed perfectly with us giving her some signals.

Key West Mangroves

We kayaked the Key West mangroves with Brad, a marine biologist. He amazed us by spotting animals in the water and pulling them out for us to see and touch.
