Greetings!
This year Minnesota has a real winter with snow. Fortunately a few weeks ago I pulled out Hobbes winter attire (jackets that light up and booties), and my winter gear. Since we live in Minneapolis without a fenced in yard, every day we take three or four walks. Yes, we walk with the bitter cold wind-chills too! This year Hobbes wore his booties for the first big snow to help keep the snow balls off his feet. Usually he doesn't wear them until the first thaw and snow melt in January. For the wet snow and ice, Hobbes wears his PawZ Booties that are made of natural rubber and are water proof and reusable. Hobbes adjusted to them faster than other booties. Plus he doesn't slip on the hardwood floors (great for older dogs) I joined Hobbes with additional footwear to avoid slipping on the ice. I added the fashion statement of traction devices to my boots. In the past I wore cleats. Now I'm wearing Yaktrax® made of rubber and coils that fit on my boots. I can walk fast with Hobbes and don't worry about the hidden ice! I'm going for a "no fall dog walk winter!" In addition to snow, the holidays bring travel, parties, and our routines change. Our pets love routines. You can help them with a few simple changes. Please let me know how these work for you and your pet. Do you wonder why dogs enjoy the holidays? The answer is here!
