Greetings!
Well, this month marks the Big 6-0! I feel like I'm still in my 30s... Where, oh where, have the years gone?!
I've often thought that because I chose to not have children, I've remained younger in years because my life was not marked by their rites of passage. It's just a theory of course. And, it doesn't change the reality that this body and soul have been on the planet this time around for almost 60 of the earth's revolutions around the sun.
Movement into the next decade of my life has often heralded some big changes: as I was turning 40, I left the corporate world to pursue (full-time) a Master in Social Work degree; and, as I was turning 50, I married for the first time ever! I don't know what's in store this time around, but I do feel another big shift in my life is coming. Some folks might dread this birthday, but I do so believe "60 is the new 40," and with my ever-growing knowledge and wisdom, I eagerly approach this next decade of my life feeling it will be the best ever!
Blessings,
P.S. It's Websites and Coffee's birthday this month too! Three years ago W+C was started to enable folks a very affordable way to start taking control of their WordPress websites and it's been going strong ever since! I've met many wonderful, interesting people and am grateful to have helped to empower them - not just in their business, but in their personal lives as well!

Spiritual/Personal
Many are Blessed by a Single Act of Kindness!
When you observe someone being kind to another person, there are three simultaneous benefits. The person receiving the kindness feels cared for and valued. The person expressing the kindness feels the joy of giving, and you feel the impact.
When you observe an act of kindness, love and hope spring up in you. As you watch the interaction between the giver and receiver, you too are blessed. Take a moment today and bless another with your smile or a kind word.
With this in mind, you will uplift others. As you demonstrate kindness, consideration or compassion, gifts from your heart will make a ripple effect as others are blessed by your kindness.

General Computer
What's a Chromebook, Anyway?
Chromebook is a different breed of computer. It runs on Google's web-based Chrome OS, which is designed to be used with an Internet connection. Most of Chromebook's documents and apps exist in the cloud; Google automatically provides 100 GB of cloud storage for every Chromebook.
You can think of a Chromebook as an Internet-dependent laptop that starts up super fast (roughly 7 seconds, or a fraction of the time it takes to boot an older model Windows-based computer). When you turn on the Chromebook, the only native app is the Google Chrome Internet browser - that's pretty much your key to all that is Chromebook! Everything else is composed of Web apps (email, photos, documents), or apps that run while you're connected to a network.
The obvious benefits of everything being saved on the Web is that you'll have access to it from any computer, and if your Chromebook ever 'bites the dust', you won't have to worry about losing all your apps, documents, and settings.
Most Chromebooks can connect to the Internet with both Wi-Fi and 3G, but there are times when you simply can't find a Wi-Fi signal; there are workarounds for plenty of routine tasks. You can still compose and read emails with Gmail Offline and wordprocess with Google Drive Offline. The offline apps will automatically sync and save when your computer has an Internet connection.

Website Development/WordPress
Optimize Your Content
WordPress is already search engine optimized 'out of the box' because of the way it is coded. However, if you want to enhance SEO, I recommend you use Yoast's WordPress plugin. Most of the technical aspects of SEO you should do are actually covered by their free WordPress SEO plugin. If you are a WordPress user, installing the plugin and using the default settings already improves your SEO quite a lot. The next step is to optimize your content.
- Your keyword strategy should use highly relevant keywords, which are keywords that relate closely to your business or are associated with your industry.
- A good site structure is not only important for reader-friendliness (and hence, people staying on your site longer) but also for SEO purposes.
- Content writing - You'll want to write well structured, high quality copy that has a clear objective. Despite all the bells and whistles you can include on your website, "content is still king."

THANKS FOR SHARING THE JOURNEY WITH ME...

Yours in Spirit,
Joyce S. Kaye (AKA The Computer Spirit)

Joyce "came to believe" in a Power greater than herself about 25 years ago. Thanks to hearing the novel idea that one could choose their own concept of God - and name too - and the workings of synchronicity, Joyce embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others. Since that time of commencing her conscious spiritual journey, she has endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom she meets, and all that she does - including working with others and helping to empower them as she provides solutions for their computer projects and business and marketing needs.
