Well, the news is mixed this month, fun, sobering, and heartening... I officially became an ALE. In English that means, I met the criteria to be an Authorized Local Expert for Constant Contact, part of an elite group selected to represent the company by delivering free educational seminars for small businesses and nonprofits. The surprise adventure began in late February - ever since, it's been fun meeting with my manager and colleagues, taking part in a couple of highly-attended workshops in Phoenix, training, etc. But let's be clear: I'm still in my own business! This position is in addition to and meshes well with my love of Constant Contact marketing tools and my passion for relationship building vis--vis my work consulting, coaching, and developing email campaigns and WordPress websites. We'll be hosting Constant Contact events up here in Northern Arizona in the near future, so stay tuned. I'll also be back down in the Big City for team meetings and some mega events, easily breaking my record of visiting Phoenix from Sedona once in 14 months! That was the fun news... the more sobering news is that the fire summer season is upon us. You've probably heard about the Slide Rock Fire in Oak Creek Canyon that started about 10 days ago. Human-caused, the amount of acreage burned is devastating; I'm not sure how badly damaged the beautiful West Fork trail is. Thankfully, there have been only minor injuries, and containment is progressing. It is heartening that firefighting teams from around the country have come here to help in the effort, and, I am honored to be part of a community that is extremely supportive and pulls together so readily to be of service. Blessings,

Spiritual/Personal
Beauty Pageant I find Hafiz (via Daniel Ladinksy) so clever, wise, and spot-on about much that he writes about regarding life, people, and the Divine.
Here's the contemplation for today, from "A Year with Hafiz: Daily Contemplations." I think you'll find yourself smiling and chuckling upon reading it... Enjoy!
May 29 As the intelligence of the human race evolvesall the competing - campaigning as it were -
religions will be viewed differently.
One will see they are all basically contestants
in a beauty pageant, and the religion that can make your own
beauty most known will win your most respect.

Should You Remove Subscribers Due to Email Inactivity?
I say, "No!" You have worked hard to acquire those subscribers. Simply because someone hasn't opened your email campaigns in, let's say, 90 days doesn't mean you should drop them like a hot potato. You never know when a non-engaged subscriber will decide to open your email and request your service/product. Unless you are experiencing deliverability challenges, I would not drop them. However, it doesn't mean you do nothing - you certainly need to pay close attention to subscribers who are waning in engagement, especially if they had demonstrated high levels of engagement in the past. So, how about...

Website Development/WordPress
WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla?
Are you still trying to decide which CMS (Content Management System) you should use for your business? There are three popular ones: WordPress (of course!), Drupal, and Joomla. I've been using WordPress for five years, about the time it's been around. I used Joomla briefly years ago on a very limited basis; I've never touched Drupal. So, obviously I'M not the expert to compare these platforms! However, there's plenty of info out there on the Net... Although these platforms differ substantially, they do have some commonalities: - They are free to download - They provide constant updates making them increasingly easy to use and customize - They offer access to online communities to a growing base of online technical support. WordPress is considered the easiest to use and was built with non-techies in mind. It started out as a platform exclusively for blogging, but has grown and advanced significantly over the years, and is considered the most popular of the CMS platforms based on the number of users ( 22.3% of all websites). Drupal is more complex than WordPress; it was designed to provide web developers the opportunity to build complex websites. Joomla falls somewhere in between WordPress and Drupal: Joomla can be described as a user-friendly version of Drupal when it comes to design and maintenance. Fans of each of these three content management systems will argue fiercely that the one they prefer is the best option out there. The fact is, each situation will require something different, and taking the time to look at all your options is the best way to go.

Joyce "came to believe" in a Power greater than herself about 24 years ago. Thanks to hearing the novel idea that one could choose their own concept of God - and name too - and the workings of synchronicity, Joyce embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others. Since that time of commencing her conscious spiritual journey, she has endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom she meets, and all that she does - including working with others and their computer and marketing projects!
