Inspiration & Contemplation
"We will save much time, money, and energy; we will save on doctor and hospital bills and avoid much suffering and pain only if we work hard to release the rivers of joy within and live, move, and have our being in joy." - Torkom Saraydarian, The Ageless Wisdom

Greetings!
Well, of course, Happy New Year! What a year it has already been for me personally. My interest in forecasts for the new year got piqued when earlier this month a client of mine, a Zennist, expressed - not once, but on multiple occasions - how excited she was about the upcoming Year of the Horse. Of course, she was referring to the Chinese zodiac, where the new year commences on January 31st. Then I received an invitation to an open house to celebrate the Year of the Horse. Hmmm... okay. Finally, I received an e-newsletter that usually talks about changes in the global economy fairly conventionally - it included an article about 2014, the Year of the Horse (actually, the Wood Horse). So I read further, and was surprised to discover the characteristics of the past couple years and the upcoming year in Chinese astrology seemed to correspond closely with the happenings in my own personal life. It was simply fascinating. "Hold on to your hats, folks, and realize that you won't be able to, nor will you want to, slow your horses in the New Year ahead!" reads a sentence from this article. Piqued your interest? Read it for yourself... So, tell me, what's your take about 2014?Blessings,
BTW, I was so very excited to realize that I own a wood horse! It was a gift from my dear aunt and uncle when they traveled to Norway and Sweden many years ago. Now it has even greater significance to me and I've moved it to a more prominent place in my home.

Spiritual/Personal
Don't Look Shortchanged You can return to Springtime whenever you want.
And your greatest pleasures, don't let their memory ever fade; let them be as they should, a genuine guide and friend.
ever there to take you back again to what made you happy once - or brought you deeper into the Heart.
Wanting to be other than where you are - who cursed you like that? Break that spell.
Wherever you might wind up after your body is buried, cremated, left at the Tower of Silence, or set floating down the Ganges,
anywhere your soul might someday call home, come to your senses - you carry that inside now, so don't look shortchanged.
Things can only appear dismal until that one eye opens and the sacred flame makes you squint.
You can return to the Divine Season at a flex of your will's might, and be the luminous sphere in the sky, raining on us, as it does.

Excel: Split Text into Different Cells
Back in the '90's, a client gave me a large Excel file that needed to be exported into an Access database. Thing was, each address had been typed into one cell, instead of separate cells, i.e., one cell each for street address, city, state, and zip code. I cringed at the thought of having to manually split the data into separate cells, and was frantic about how to proceed. I had a programmer friend, and he came to my rescue, creating some kind of formula or macro. Within practically a blink of the eye, the data got split into individual cells. I definitely owed him one. Nowadays, Excel has a Convert Text to Columns Wizard that easily let's you take the text in one or more cells, and spread it out across multiple cells. Whew! What a god-send this is, and so easy to use. Here's how...

Tag Contacts
Tags are a new feature of Constant Contact. They allow you to easily group people together for your own internal organization and then use that group for more targeted emails. They are just another way to classify your contacts so that you can segment them later. Here's what you need to know...

Website Development/WordPress
What to Look for in a Website Host
I'm the first one to promote small businesses, but sometimes you really need to work with the Big Guys! This is often the case with web hosting services.
Here's some really important features you'll want from a hosting service: - Website backup - Daily, a fresh copy each time (not overwriting the prior night's copy), with an archive of 5-7 days, on the host's server.
- Access to all the files and databases - usually through something like a cPanel.
- Full writing permissions - On computer file systems, different files and directories have permissions that specify who and what can read, write, modify, and access them.
- 24/7 Support - Whether you're working in your website on a Thursday evening at 6 o'clock, weekend afternoon, or Tuesday morning at 3 AM, you want tech support there for you. Period.
Using a host with the aforementioned will save you a lot of agita down the road, especially when it's the most inopportune time.

Joyce "came to believe" in a Higher Power about 23 years ago. Thanks to hearing the novel idea that one could choose their own concept of God - and name too - and the workings of synchronicity, Joyce embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others. Since that time of commencing her conscious spiritual journey, she has endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom she meets, and all that she does - including working with others and their computer projects!
