I trust this finds you well. I don't know about you, but this has certainly been a month of milestones for me.

June 19th marked the one-year anniversary that the first "Websites and Coffee" workshop was held. It was the beginning of helping to empower people to create and manage their own WordPress websites at a less expensive price tag than private coaching. [We all need to feel we've got a little bit of control in this crazy world, huh?!] Who knew that it would turn out that I would meet so many wonderful people, a number of whom have turned into good friends, private clients, or both! I'm grateful to be engaged in work I enjoy and be of service.

This past weekend was special for me: I had a small group of close, local friends join me at my home Saturday in a house blessing, smudging ceremony, and birthday celebration, as well as my expression of gratitude Grandmother drum for them, as I start out in my new life. My dear friend Esther did ceremony and ten of us were able to drum together on "Grandmother." We also sang, shared from the heart, read poetry, 'broke bread', etc. It was just fabulous - haven't had such a celebration in many, many moons. And, speaking of moons, with the Summer Solstice on Friday, I participated in a special ceremony at dawn with some Unity friends, my birthday was Saturday, and then Sunday was a supermoon - all very powerful and significant as I move into my own life again fully. Thank You, Spirit!

To be surrounded by loved ones and treated like royalty was not only fun but a huge blessing in many ways, and a further awakening for me. In addition, I wore a tiara for the first time in 58 years (see sidebar) - it's never too late!

Here's wishing you many wonderful milestones surrounded by loved ones...

Hafiz book I've been reading "A Year with Hafiz - Daily Contemplations" by Daniel Ladinsky each morning, chuckling, receiving wisdom, feeling the Divine who Hafiz evidently knew quite well and was drunk in love with.

Hafiz lived in the 14th century, was a spiritual teacher, and is the most beloved poet of Persians. A single Hafiz poem can be approached from many points of view, and Ladinsky does not intend his renderings to be literal, scholarly, or even accurate. His hope is that they are "True - faithful to the living spirit of this divine poet" (page xviii).

Here's one that struck my funny bone yet got me thinking... Enjoy!

Find a Better Job (June 9)

Now that all your worry has proved such an unlucrative business... why not find a better job?

And while you're at it, scouting about town and fine tuning your resume, maybe light a candle in some church.

What is a Botnet?

A botnet is a collection of ordinary home and office computers that have been compromised by rogue software; the term "botnet" is short for "robot network."

botnet Computers that have been caught up in a botnet have been effectively taken over, and can be used to perform almost any task by the person(s) who controls the botnet.

Botnets operate silently and spread via viral infections and other malicious software. They use email, social engineering, P2P (peer to peer) networks, and other techniques to spread to other computers. Once your PC is infected, it may attempt to spread the botnet code to others on a local network in a home or office setting.

Botnets are used to send massive quantities of spam; to gather sensitive information from businesses, political groups or governments; to damage or take down a competitor's website by flooding it with emails or web connections; and, for mass identity theft.

To learn about what you might be failing to do that is most likely to get your computer into a botnet, and to read the full article from which the aforementioned is based, visit the website of Bob Rankin.

Insert Tables in Your e-Newsletter

In case you hadn't noticed, Constant Contact recently added a new feature to easily insert a table in your e-newsletter.

In the past, if you wanted to insert a table in an article block, you needed to know HTML code. But now, there's a table icon on the toolbar, and you can create a table just like you would if you were using Microsoft Word.

CC insert table

Ideas for using a table? Use a table to insert multiple images horizontally without fuss. Or, insert a table to create an eye-catching call-to-action button (a 1x1 cell table).

This new feature not only makes life a little easier in creating e-newsletters, but it allows you to get creative too!

Website Development/WordPress
What the Heck is a Responsive Website?

Responsive web design (RWD) is a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience - easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling - across a wide range of devices, from an over-sized desktop computer monitor, a laptop, a 10-inch tablet, a 7-inch tablet, or a 4-inch smartphone screen.

A responsive website changes its appearance and layout based on the size of the screen the website is displayed on.
responsive web design
Responsive sites can be designed to
  • make the text on the page larger and easier to read on smaller screens
  • make the buttons on a phone's screen easier to press
  • hide or present entirely different information

bottomgodwordJoyce "came to believe" in a Higher Power about 23 years ago.  Thanks to hearing the novel idea that one could choose their own concept of God, and the workings of synchronicity, Joyce embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others.  Since that time of commencing her conscious spiritual journey, she has endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom she meets, and all that she does - including working with others and their computer projects!
