Drop Shadow Accent Image

Greetings!

You've probably heard the adage that when flying in an airplane, if the oxygen mask drops, put yours on first - if you don't take care of yourself first, you're not going to be of much use to others. This metaphor is apropos throughout life.  If I don't take care of myself in body, mind, and spirit on a consistent, regular basis, I cannot hope to be of much service to others. And, I'm probably not going to be a joyful camper either.

In recent times Spirit has finally gotten through and made this quite clear to me. I'm practicing more and more "to thine own self be true..." That means to myself and to God first, then to others.

For after all, if I'm not right with my inner being nor to God, I'm not going to be of much use to others...

Blessings,

Spiritual/Personal
Dear Human
The other night at the Magdalene Circle Sedona, the presenter shared the following. When I heard it I chuckled, nodded in agreement, cringed, smiled, felt relief... I'd be curious to know your reaction...

Dear Human:

You've got it all wrong. You didn't come here to master unconditional love. That is where you came from and where you'll return. You came here to learn personal love. Universal love. Messy love. Sweaty love. Crazy love. hearts Broken love. Whole love. Infused with divinity. Lived through the grace of stumbling. Demonstrated through the beauty of... messing up. Often. You didn't come here to be perfect. You already are. You came here to be gorgeously human. Flawed and fabulous. And then to rise again into remembering. But unconditional love? Stop telling that story. Love, in truth, doesn't need ANY other adjectives. It doesn't require modifiers. It doesn't require the condition of perfection. It only asks that you show up. And do your best. That you stay present and feel fully. That you shine and fly and laugh and cry and hurt and heal and fall and get back up and play and work and live and die as YOU. It's enough. It's Plenty.

This Age of Technology

Here's a fun and interesting story of one person's adventures with today's technology...

"When I bought my Blackberry, I thought about the 30-year business I ran with 1800 employees, all without a cell phone that plays music, takes videos, pictures and communicates with Facebook and Twitter. I signed up under duress for Twitter and Facebook, so my seven kids, their spouses, 13 grand-kids and 2 great-grand-kids could communicate with me in the modern way... I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space.

That was before...

7 Design Mistakes That Make Readers Trash Your Emails
By Pamela Wilson

It's heartbreaking to think that people are making snap judgements about whether or not to read your emails based on a quick glance.

But they are. You are, too! Here's how we all sort through our inboxes:
  1. We choose an email message
  2. We give it a two-second glance
  3. We decide if it's worth our time
  4. If it is, we keep it and read it
  5. If it's not, we hit the delete key, and send the email to the trash
How can you keep your email out of the trash? The secret is good design. In those first two seconds, that's all your reader sees.

Let's take a look at seven common design mistakes that get emails trashed, and I'll offer more than seven solutions to help your next email get read.

My passion is relationship building, be it social or business. Now, when it comes to business (but really how can you separate social from business in today's world of the Internet and social media?), the way I see it, your website is the hub for everything. It's like a wheel with spokes, or Home, where all paths lead to, where your heart is.

And the spokes or the paths include email marketing (newsletters), brochures, business cards, Facebook and other social media, and on and on it goes.

My point is that...

Here in beautiful Red Rock Country - and perhaps where you are too - one day the weather is spring-like, the next, definitely winter, with low, low temps, blustery winds, and even snow!

So while we're still in the waning (hopefully!) days of winter, it's especially cozy to go into my cocoon space - listening to music, sitting in The Silence, doing yoga stretches on the floor, reading contemplatively... These are ways I take care of and nourish my body, mind, and spirit - and am true to me.

I encourage you to take the time to be in the present moment, to breathe in deeply and feel the great power within, and to be true to thine own self. For then, "it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." [William Shakespeare]

Yours in Spirit,

bottomgodwordJoyce "came to believe" in a Higher Power about 22 years ago.  Thanks to hearing the novel idea that one could choose their own concept of God, and the workings of synchronicity, Joyce embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others.  Since that time of commencing her conscious spiritual journey, she has endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom she meets, and all that she does - including working with others and their computer projects!
