KIDS HEADING BACK TO SCHOOL


Very soon children will be going back to school and motorists are reminded to stop when a school bus is picking up or dropping off children.  Please watch for school buses with their stop arm out and red lights flashing.  Drivers must stop when red lights are flashing and the stop arm is out and NEVER go around.

Please watch for children:
  • Walking in the street
  • Playing and congregating near bus stops
  • On bikes who are often inexperienced, unsteady and unpredictable.

ELA TOWNSHIP DAY IS 
SEPTEMBER 17th!

Ela Township is hosting an open house from 4 - 5 p.m. at several locations including the Ela Township Hall, Community Center and Historical Society, followed by a township cookout from 5 - 7 p.m. at Knox Park in Lake Zurich. An "Electric Slide" is scheduled for 6 p.m.!
 
This family-friendly event offers fun, free food, music, children's activities, touch-a-truck, information booths and more. Bring a non-perishable food item to help fill our Highway Department truck for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. For each donation you'll receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a large flatscreen TV!

VEGETATION TRIMMING
 
Crews are trimming back vegetation along Village roads to promote visibility and safety.  Controlling  vegetation also allows winter sun to shine onto roads to help melt snow and ice. 

When driving please be on the lookout for the crews doing this important work.
