HAVE FUN AT FRED FEST
 
 
Fred Fest is coming to the Forest Preserve on Saturday, August 15th from 1:00pm - 8:00pm in Port Barrington along the Fox River.  The event features five local bands and a day of family-friendly activities.

 COME OUT AND SUPPORT KILDEER'S RACK PACK AT BANNOCKBURN'S BBQ CHALLENGE!
On August 22nd, Kildeer's Rack Pack will be competing with Bannockburn, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Deerfield, Riverwoods, Lincolnshire and Lake Bluff for the title of Grand Champion.  Last year Kildeer's team was awarded 2nd place for our ribs!  Join us this year and vote for Kildeer in the People's Choice category. The competition will be held at the Bannockburn Green Shopping Center at 2:00pm.  For more information, please click here. 
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: ADOPT A HIGHWAY 
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is now accepting applications for enrollment in the Lake County Adopt A Highway program.
 
Open enrollment is taking place now through Friday, August 28th. Participants must be at least 10 years of age and anyone younger than 18 years of age must have adult supervision. For more information, please visit the LCDOT website, or call (847) 377-7472.

VISIT THE NEWLY DESIGNED BUTTERFLY GARDEN BY A YOUNG KILDEER RESIDENT


Purple Coneflwr & Bttrfly Kildeer resident Erin McDermott designed, planned and installed a beautiful butterfly garden and sitting area at the Reed Turner Woodland & Nature Center in Long Grove as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award. Stop by Saturday, August 15th at 1:00pm to visit the garden and learn about monarch butterflies.
