EAGLE SCOUT COMMENDATION
On August 19th, the Mayor along with the Board of Trustees presented Kildeer resident, Alex Hurrell with a Special Commendation for his outstanding achievement in earning his Eagle Scout rank. This is the highest rank one can attain as a Scout. There are 4.5 million Boy Scouts and only 3% achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. As part of Alex's community project he collected over 900 toys and stuffed animals and donated them to Advocate Children's Hospital to comfort patients.

 SCHOOL STARTING SOON
Students will be returning to the classroom soon. Please drive carefully and watch for children in school zones, near bus stops and on student pedestrian routes before and after school.

KIMCO BEAUTIFICATION EFFORTS RECOGNIZED
Mr. Neil Goldberg, Kimco Property Manager for the The Shops of Kildeer, was also recognized at the August board meeting for his efforts to further beautify the shopping center with a new monument sign and attractive landscaping.

The "Taste" has grown to become very popular with families and friends. The event focus is on the food and beverage vendors who feature "tastes" of their signature items.
In addition to the featured food and beverages, attendees enjoy many free family activities and musical entertainment including "Paint the Car" provided by Casten Auto Body, Climbing Wall provided by Foglia YMCA, Pitching competitions by Go Hardball Training Academy, arts & crafts activities for kids by local daycare facilities, dance from Trilogy School of Performing Arts, and music throughout the event.
Entrance to the park is free, so all park goers are welcome to enjoy the entertainment and family activities. Proceeds from the event help to fund programs and services provided by the LZ Area Chamber of Commerce, like the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.
