KILDEER POLICE DEPARTMENT'S INVESTIGATION OF A
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY RESULTS
IN FOUR ARRESTS
A three week investigation of a burglary in the Ponds of Kildeer subdivision culminated in the arrests of two adults and two juveniles.
The offenders knew that the owners were away on vacation and broke a window to enter the house in the early morning of July 21st. Once inside the offenders stole watches, jewelry, liquor and small electronic devices. The reported value of the stolen items was over $75,000. Kildeer Police Officers were able to recover several of the items taken from the victim's home.
Chief Balinski stated, "This was a crime of opportunity and fortunately no one was inside the house at the time of the burglary." The Kildeer Police Department wants to remind residents to always arm their alarm system, lock doors and windows, maintain proper lighting inside and outside your home and call 911 immediately to report any suspicious activity in your neighborhoods.
Village President Nandia Black "expressed her appreciation to the Kildeer Police Department for solving this case, making arrests so quickly, and recovering most of the items."
