Dear ASHI Members,

As you know, on April 4 of this year, I stepped in as interim Editor-in-Chief of Human Immunology. This change came about after numerous ASHI member and non-member complaints about long turnaround times for decisions on manuscripts and lack of response to queries regarding manuscript status.

I am pleased to report that, with the help of a great group of Section Editors, the backlog of manuscripts is gone and turnaround times from submission to initial decision for newly submitted manuscripts have been reduced to a few weeks. Papers on histocompatibility and immunogenetics subjects have faster turnarounds because it is easier to find reviewers. Also, with the help of Leslie Clark, emails are being answered within a day or two.

My next goal is to refine the aim and scope of the journal so that we receive and publish more high quality papers that are relevant to the members of ASHI. After all, this is our society's journal. In light of that, I have a favor to ask of you:

Please consider submitting your manuscripts to Human Immunology!

Encourage your clinical and basic research colleagues to do so as well. I promise they will get immediate attention and a fair and objective review.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Human Immunology.

Best regards,

Amy Hahn

Interim Editior-in-Chief
