Important Announcement Regarding
ASHI's Journal,
Human Immunology
Dear ASHI Members,

Following feedback from our members, the ASHI Board of Directors has been thoroughly examining the procedures used to process manuscripts for our society's journal, Human Immunology. We have determined that a number of changes to the editorial staff should take place, and new guidelines have been established to streamline the review process of submitted manuscripts. (Note: These changes will not alter how a paper is submitted. Authors will continue to submit as usual; all procedural changes are internal.)

It is with great pleasure we announce that Dr. Amy Hahn, a long-time editorial board member and current section editor for Human Immunology, has agreed to step in as interim Editor-in-Chief, beginning immediately. Dr. Hahn has shown an outstanding commitment to serve ASHI as its President, as a representative of the histocompatibility community on the UNOS board and committees, and in multiple other roles. Dr. Hahn's priorities will be to clear the backlog of submitted papers, set up oversight of the processes, and streamline future submissions.

With the changes, authors can expect faster turn-around time for reviews and decisions and better communication regarding the status of their papers. High quality submissions are essential for the success of our journal and it is our hope and expectation that, with these changes in place, you will consider submitting to Human Immunology when you have a paper ready for publication.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work on improving our society's journal. We are excited about the future of Human Immunology and welcome your feedback. Please address any communication in this regard to our new editorial assistant Ms. Leslie Clark at leslieclarkashi@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Anat R. Tambur, DMD, PhD, D(ABHI)
President
