Laboratory accreditation - why do we need it and how can we achieve it? During this presentation attendees will be given an overview of regulatory aspects of clinical histocompatibility laboratories and the role they play in this process.

Session take aways:
  • Describe the regulatory framework that governs diagnostic laboratories including CMS (CLIA) and FDA
  • Describe the role that accrediting organizations (ASHI, CAP) and other groups (UNOS, NMDP) play in histocompatibility testing
  • What to expect when an inspector knocks on your door
  • Discuss how all members of the laboratory and the inspector(s) can contribute to a successful inspection
Virtual Crossmatching- Where Do We Stand? presented by John Schmitz, PhD, D(ABMLI, ABHI)
Attendees can expect an update on virtual crossmatching and its current status.

  • Discuss - What is virtual crossmatching and why would we want to use it
  • Discuss factors that impact one's ability to conduct an accurate virtual crossmatch

Case Study Competition 

 

Don't hesitate to enter the competition, space is limited.

 

Case studies will be accepted into the contest on a first come, first served basis, with a maximum of five case studies accepted per meeting.

 

The highest-ranking case study per meeting will receive a $500 award and be acknowledged in the ASHI Quarterly!
