The Rising Star Award recognizes outstanding HLA technologists who have worked in the field for less than three years and are excited to pursue their careers in HLA. 

In order to be considered for the Rising Star Award, you should: 

• Be an HLA technologist
• Have no more than three (3) years of experience in the field
• Desire to further your career in HLA
• Submit a short, four-page essay describing your current role in HLA and why you are pursuing a career in the field
• Email your essay to Kathy Miranda, Executive Director, at kmiranda@ahint.com by Friday, May 30

• One (1) complimentary registration to the 2014 ASHI Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado
• Two (2) night stay at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel
• Up to $700 towards airfare to the 2014 Annual Meeting (must be in compliance with the ASHI travel policy)
• A plaque which will be presented to you at the ASHI Annual Meeting during the Awards & Business Meeting
• One (1) year ASHI technologist membership (If you are a current ASHI member, your membership will be extended for one year)
